What is Weathered Steel?
Weathered steel, best-known as corten steel and sometimes written with the hyphen as "Cor-Ten steel", are steel metals developed to eliminate the need for painting or resurfacing as the steel forms a stable rusty appearance if exposed to the weather overtime."Weathering Steel" means that due to the chemical makeup of the steel, this rust looking steel (used for firpits / landscape decor etc etc) exhibit increased resistance to corrosion compared to other steels.
